Milous Ket: “Interiors 2009″

Season 2009 will be a season of contrasts. In her presentation “Interiors 2009” Milou Ket speaks about her trend vision, which comprises six themes:

“Nordic light“ follows the Scandinavian style with its clear and retrospective character. The theme’s range of colours combines cold and icy hues with bright, blond shades. Untreated wood is accentuated; single objects draped in the room catch the beholder’s eye and seem like islands. “Sweet memories” arranges pastel colours in three-dimensional structures and haptic materials around the central colour pink. Japanese flower drawings decorate the walls; filigree mobiles emphasise the romantic character of this theme. As can be assumed from the name “Over the rainbow” strong rainbow colours – including neon and acid components – dominate this theme’s range of colours. Black and white function as graphic contrast and are essential for the composition. In the contract sector this theme is reflected in the colourised glasses or blends, which play with sparkling effects without however drifting into a colour overkill.

The theme “Paradise lost” was developed as a response to the great worries about the climate change and the use of natural resources. Light becomes the central aspect as a symbol of transparency and clarity. Airy designs paired with concepts of LED illumination, open spaces and colours ranging from light to cold recall natural spaces yet untouched and demand the preservation of these unique and vulnerable spheres. In “World treasures” shades of gold and brown unite with handmade materials. The ethnic origin becomes as important as the revival of traditional crafts in combination with hightech processing methods. African and Asian patterns and ornaments, Ikat and Kemlin weavings, red and black play with the notion of origin and transmit an awareness of the diversity and exoticism of a world getting smaller. Milou Ket presents as a sixth theme „Shadow of the Night.” The mysterious and intimate character of this urban style is conveyed by shades of purple, dark red and grey. Metallic surfaces, laser-treated structures and sparkling, subtle LED installations play with allusions to the Film Noir style and futuristic vastness. During the following presentation of the trendbook the audience could also assure itself of the material’s haptic quality and was delighted.
